When Roy and Elaine South visited the Creative Interiors showroom in the summer of 2021, the Derbyshire couple were seeking an extensive renovation of multiple rooms in their home, including their kitchen, dressing room and downstairs cloakroom. They had inherited a tired space and the plan had always been to renovate it, so after two years of living in their new home they decided the time was right to transform it into something that combined classic style with practicality.
We visited Mr and Mrs South following completion of the project to see how the finished space turned out and to chat about how they found their renovation experience, from the initial design consultation through to installation.
We had only lived in our property for two years, but some areas of the home were very tired and out of date so we’d always wanted to renovate when we could. The old kitchen was too small for us, and we suspect that it hadn’t been refreshed in 16 years, so it was definitely time for a renovation!
The kitchen was the main focus of the renovation and the room that needed the most attention. Ultimately, we wanted to give the space a complete refresh and create a timeless, traditional finish to match the style of the house. We browsed the manufacturers available in the showroom and eventually chose a Daval kitchen as we were impressed by the high quality and craftmanship of their ranges.
We found Creative Interiors simply by driving past the showroom! It caught our eye as it is such a large showroom, and it had some beautiful bays showing kitchen and bathroom units in the window.
After our initial consultation with the team, we decided to choose Creative Interiors as the service was second to none – the team offered a personal and professional service right from the beginning. It was also clear that the workmanship and manufacturers were top quality, and the whole renovation project came in at the right price!
The whole planning process was fantastic! The team really helped to bring our visions to life – the style they created for us was the perfect combination of traditional yet stylish, with grey cabinets and marble worktops. Communication was easy throughout the whole renovation, and we felt that we received a really bespoke, personal service – the team were a real pleasure to deal with.
The whole renovation ran really smoothly, and it wasn’t at all stressful. Of course though, the best part of the whole process was the finished product! We were blown away with the transformation of the kitchen space compared to before – it was like a completely different room, with a stunning island at the centre of the room with sleek marble worktops, a double oven, and lots of integrated smart storage and innovations.
We love the whole look and feel of the kitchen. It is timeless and perfectly suits our taste and the property itself. As mentioned, we also have two ovens now, which we didn’t have previously, and it has totally changed how we use the kitchen! We love spending time in the kitchen now, and it’s perfect for hosting meals for friends and family as well.
